The Sugar Shack provides two accommodation options: The Villa, a 3-bedroom, 3-bathroom home for your exclusive use, or The Penthouse, a 1-bedroom, 1-bathroom private penthouse.

No, we value privacy at The Sugar Shack. The Villa has a stunning rimflow pool that will make you feel as if you can actually continue swimming straight into the ocean, and The Penthouse boasts a rooftop rimflow pool guaranteed to give you the best view of the Ballito beachfront.

Absolutely! We wouldn’t be South African if we didn’t. 🔥 The Villa boasts a gorgeous firepit right beside the pool, while The Penthouse has its own intimate rooftop firepit. And in true local hospitality, we even provide firewood for the duration of your stay.

Planning for eight? The Villa sleeps 6, and the Penthouse adds 2 adults (no under-16s). Book both to fit everyone comfortably.

We don’t serve breakfast, but you’ll still eat like royalty. 🥐 We’re self-catering, with chef-ready kitchens for your favourite dishes or those recipes you’ve always wanted to make. Prefer a lazy morning or to be spoiled? Fantastic cafés and restaurants are a quick 2–3 minute walk away (at a South African—not European!—pace 😉).

The area sometimes does, but we don’t. The property is backed by solar panels and battery/inverter power, so it’s very unlikely you’ll be affected, only in exceptional circumstances (e.g., unusually long outages with poor sunshine) might there be brief limitations. And thankfully, Ballito enjoys abundant sunshine year-round (South Africa is among the world’s sunniest countries), so our system stays nicely topped up.

We’re truly honoured you’d think of us for a celebration. To keep the atmosphere peaceful for all guests and neighbours, we don’t host parties or events.

Yes—The Sugar Shack Villa is family-friendly and ideal for beach holidays with kids. (It sleeps 6 and sits on a safe, private property close to the sand and rock pools. Standard parental supervision applies around the pool and firepit.) The Sugar Shack Penthouse is adults-only and does not accept under-16s.

Absolutely! Our property is located directly on Ballito’s popular promenade, and we have a beach gate that leads onto the walkway. You’ll have easy and convenient access to the beach.

Certainly! We love these types of requests! We often have guests who book both The Villa and Penthouse. It’s a great option if you’re traveling with a bigger group.

Absolutely! We have a double garage exclusively for The Villa guests, and there’s secure parking in the driveway behind an automated gate for The Penthouse guests. Your vehicles will be safe and sound.

Yes, the villa has a washing machine in the scullery for your convenience.
